Biomedical signals provide basic information to understand the disease & physiological states of humans. Accordingly, their acquisition and analysis must be highly accurate and sophisticated. BMIS Lab. is focusing on the instrumentation as well as development of the state-of-the-art analysis methods for biomedical data such as electrocardiography (ECG), photoplethysmgraphy (PPG), electromyography (EMG), electroencephalogrphy (EEG) and so on. In addition, our research field includes brain mapping and image analysis to investigate network organization and higher cortical capacities through human brain connectomics.
To pursue that purpose, BMIS Lab. utilizes brain imaging data including structural & functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) as well as EEG/MEG source imaging. Furthermore, we also conduct translational animal studies by means of stereotaxic neurosurgical frame and neuromodulation technologies such as transcranial current stimulation (tCS) and optogenetics, etc.
We have been persistently studying artificial intelligence (AI) techniques including machine learning & deep learning for several kinds of biomedical and healthcare applications as well. Lastly, BMIS Lab. always cooperates with partners who are working at distinguished general hospitals for the clinical application of our research outcomes.
